At Dental 206, we’re committed to making every visit a positive experience for you and your family.

As a local dentist in Townsville, our practice welcomes patients from across the region, seeking genuine dental care and cosmetic dentistry. Including family dental care and urgent dental care needs, our experienced team offers a range of services to support your journey to a healthier smile. 

Meet the team - Dr Nam

Dr Nam Le, Principal Dentist

Dr Nam Le graduated from the University of Sydney in 2004 and has been a Townsville local since 2006. Nam has been a member of the Dental 206 team since 2017 and takes great pride in providing ethical dental treatment with long-term continuity of care.

Nam provides a wide scope of clinical procedures and has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, including composite build-ups and veneers. Nam also has an impressive attention to detail, excellent communication skills and gentle hands.

Nam is a grounded and well-rounded father of 3 children, with an ability to treat and relate to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Outside of the dental clinic, Nam enjoys a wide variety of hobbies, including cooking, fishing, tennis, golf and travel.

Meet the team - Dr Shontel

Dr Shontel Bilic, Associate Dentist

After graduating from JCU in 2015, Shontel started working in private dental practices in and around the Cairns region. She moved to Townsville in 2017 where she quickly fell in love with the Townsville lifestyle.

Shontel is passionate about providing her patients with a calm, relaxed dental appointment with a focus on preventative treatment.

Shontel treats people of all ages and enjoys educating her patients on their dental health.

When not at work, you can find Shontel spending time with her family or out on adventures around Townsville, hiking with her two dogs. 

Meet the team - Dr Ingrid

Dr Ingrid Blomberg, Associate Dentist

Dr Ingrid originally completed a Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Queensland and practised as a dental hygienist/dental therapist, working in general and specialist practices to treat gum disease in adults and all aspects of children’s dentistry.

She then completed a Bachelor of Dental Surgery at James Cook University, where she achieved the highest academic grade of her cohort.

Ingrid has been delivering high quality dental care in Townsville for over 10 years. Ingrid practises the full scope of general dentistry, with a particular interest in restoration of worn or broken teeth, cosmetic rehabilitation and family dentistry.

Meet the team - Dr Kate

Dr Kate Burry, Associate Dentist

Kate began her healthcare career as a Registered Nurse after completing a Bachelor of Nursing Science at JCU in Townsville. She later completed a Graduate Diploma in Emergency Nursing while working in Emergency and Intensive Care. Seeking a new challenge, she transitioned into dentistry, drawn by its focus on health promotion. She enjoys helping patients improve their oral health and reconnecting at each visit.

Kate has worked in private practices across Cairns, Weipa – where she was lead dentist – and Brisbane. She’s recently returned to her hometown of Townsville to be closer to family and is excited to join the Dental 206 team.

Kate takes a conservative, minimally invasive approach to general dentistry, with special interests in Endodontics (root canal therapy), pain relief, restoring function, and smile makeovers. She’s a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, Australian Society of Endodontology, and Australian Prosthodontic Society. Outside of work, she enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with family.

Meet the team - Marian

Marian Elliman, Dental Hygienist

Marian is an experienced hygienist who has worked at Dental 206 for much of her professional practice. She is focused on providing solid grass-roots service to her clients. She has a low-key approach, always adding a touch of humour to keep things relaxed. Out of the office, Marian enjoys time working in her garden (and sleeping).

Meet the team - Tameka

Tameka, Practice Manager

With over 6 years of experience in the dental industry, Tameka has developed a strong background in both clinical and administrative procedures. She completed a Certificate III in Dental Assisting in 2017 and is currently pursuing a Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping to expand her expertise as the current Practice Manager of Dental 206.

Passionate about patient care, Tameka prioritises building strong relationships with both patients and staff, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Alongside her partner in crime, Maddy, at the front desk, they work seamlessly to provide exceptional service and ensure everything runs smoothly.

Outside the office, Tameka enjoys spending time with family, especially her nieces and nephews. You’ll also find Tameka at the golf course, socially having a game. (Well trying anyway).

Maddison, Practice Manager

Maddy started in the dental industry in 2018 as a Dental Assistant and has since developed a range of experience across various roles. She now co-manages Dental 206 alongside Tameka, bringing her passion for patient care and her vibrant personality.

You’ll find her at the front desk with Tameka, where the two make the perfect duo—whether it’s managing the practice or sharing the occasional laugh at each other’s expense.

Outside of work, Maddy enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, and all things outdoors!

Abbie, Clinical Coordinator

Abbie began her dental career on the Gold Coast in 1999. She made the move to Townsville in 2021, and soon grew to love the city and everything it has to offer. Over the years, Abbie has become an invaluable member of the team as a Clinical Coordinator.

 Abbie is a proud mum to three children and loves to spend time down at the beautiful strand, enjoying the outdoors and making memories with her family.

Jess, Dental Assistant

Jess embarked on her dental career journey in 2009, starting a traineeship to obtain her Certificate III in Dental Assisting. Jess has also explored her creative side as a makeup artist, completing her Certificate II in Makeup Artistry.

Known as the gentle soul of Dental 206, Jess is dedicated to fostering a relaxed atmosphere that makes every patient feel comfortable and cared for.

Outside of work, Jess loves getting her hands dirty in the garden and catching up with friends over a coffee.

Sarah, Dental Assistant

Having been a Dental Assistant for over 30 years, Sarah has worked in some wonderful and varied places, from working with specialist’s clinics in the capital cities to remote aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory. Assisting in complex oral and periodontal procedures, to participating in data gathering for nationwide oral heath survey’s, dental assisting has always kept Sarah on her toes and continues to be engaging and interesting. Sarah has had the opportunity to work with some wonderful people over the years, many who have become good friends -The crew at Dental 206 are no exception! 

Away from work, Sarah enjoys walking her dog, Cookie, and is often swimming and doing Pilates to stay fit and healthy.  She loves the outdoors, so camping in the fabulous NQ Winters is a must and any time is a good time for a road trip!

Alyssa, Dental Assistant

Alyssa joined the Dental 206 team in 2022 and has since completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting. With 4 years of experience in the dental field, she is committed to expanding her skills and appreciates working in a team that fosters growth and is supportive. Her kind and compassionate demeanour allows her to create a welcoming environment for both patients and colleagues. Outside of work, Alyssa enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.
